AFTERCARE

The aftercare for laser treatment is pretty easy! The most important advice to follow is to keep well hydrated and your body healthy. We know that doesn't sound like much but your body is doing all that incredible work internally to help break down ink pigments and filter them through the lymphatic system. That means getting lots of water, sleep, and exercise to help optimize the body's potential to fade or remove your tattoo. You'll leave your treatment with a topical cream and bandage to protect the area. You can expect some sensitivity, redness, and swelling.

Here are some basic aftercare guidelines for post treatment care!

  • Take bandage off 1-3 hours post treatment. Keep the treated area clean and comfortable by washing 1-2 times a day for up to a week. You'll apply the topical cream as needed otherwise keep the area as dry as possible.

  • Avoid taking steaming hot showers and keep the area cool. Heat = prolonged swelling, redness & discomfort! That includes soaking in hot tubs and saunas for a couple weeks.

  •  NO picking or scratching treated area as this could lead to infection and scarring.

  • Avoid strenuous and heavy exercise for 1-2 days. (Afterwards get plenty of movement!)

  • Staying out of direct sunlight after and in-between treatments is a crucial step to staying on track with the removal progress. It's almost impossible to treat tanned skin. Use a good quality SPF 30+ with at least a 10% zinc content if you do have to be in the sun for prolonged periods of time.

  • STAY HEALTHY. Keeping up with your health will always help when healing from any type of procedure. Eating well and getting plenty of exercise will help your body process the broken down particles moving through your lymphatic system. You'll want to avoid over indulging in alcohol and tobacco post treatment. A healthy body will allow for a stronger response and quicker process overall.
